Whether you like her or not, Ashlee Simpson was looking fierce at the Melrose Place premiere on Monday night. I was inspired to create a little color board. Notice the awesome color swatch card from The Inspired Bride, the Louboutons and the Red roses and Gerber daisies.

I was inspired by these photos from theKnot (upper left photo, and upper right). And then I came across the Instyle Wedding website which had the stunning table set up with the robins egg blue vases and the deep pink hydrangeas. So stunning. Perfect for a summer wedding full of color and fun. The invitation in the lower right is from Modern Girl Invitations

I read a lot of wedding blogs, magazines and peruse talented photographers wedding photos. Today I saw a trend in the color scheme: deep red and a light blue combination. I love this! Take a look at this unique set from a Polyvore member friend:

Blue and red for wedding colors is so rich yet so light at the same time. It could work for a winter wedding – play up the light blue in some snowflake centerpieces. There’s something modern about grey. It’s not dreary, rather it’s fresh and elegant and clean. Wedding Paper Divas posted a great inspiration board of charcoal and turquoise colors. I could definitely see a wedding based around gray and pastels like light purple, light blue and turquoise.

Fall Wedding Inspiration Board

A beautiful combination of fall wedding themes. If you’re tying the knot in October, consider incorporating shades of marigold, blue and brown. Antique hydrangeas and stalks of wheat look decidedly country yet elegant, the way a wedding should be. Also consider some non-traditional wedding bouquets like pine cones or leaves.

I love weddings, obviously They are an inherent fairy tale to me. When thinking of wedding color schemes, there are so many combinations! A vibrant scheme seems youthful and summery – like green and watermelon. But the color combination I’m loving today is light pink, ivory and blush colors. I made a collection of wedding items showcasing the fairy tale color scheme I love. Gold and ivory colors with blush accents make it seem like a page right out of Sleeping Beauty. So gorgeous. I wonder if anyone out there has successfully pulled this opulent color scheme off? Would it work for winter and summer? I think so, but let’s hear your thoughts.

Tiffany light blue plus light dusty pink = beautiful, fresh wedding colors. Blue and pink don’t have to look like bubble gum. They can be youthful or elegant. It’s all in the details. Make sure you pair a light pink with a vibrant blue or vice versa. Don’t overload with two vibrant colors.
