Reinventing the Classic Updo

Daily, I comb through beauty, wedding and photography blogs looking for the most unique bridal hairstyles. Today I found an updo that even surprised me, and I’ve created and seen my share of wedding day looks. This creative and elegant wedding hairstyle combines the look of curls and a french braid.

The anatomy of this style is a bit difficult to dissect, but from what I can tell, 4 inch sections of hair were looped back and pinned down to the head. The looped sections overlap one another to achieve an almost braided look. The final appearance is high volume yet sleek. I love that the style finds a way to keep the hair out of the face without plastering the hair back onto the head. For a bride looking for a classic bridal hairstyle that has something unique to offer, I think this is a stunning choice. A summer bride would particularly like this, as all the hair is pulled up and away from the face. When choosing this updo, considering accessories is important, since the neck and ears will be exposed, so think pearls, solitary diamonds and other traditional bridal accents.
