Bridesmaid dresses you CAN wear again

If you’ve seen the movie 27 Dresses you know that there’s a whole culture to being a bridesmaid. There’s a saying “You can wear that bridesmaid dress again, it’s so cute”. This is usually a big fat lie. I’ve worn some very beautiful bridesmaid dresses. One chocolate brown, a black satin, and some other pleasant gowns. But I won’t wear them again. The problem is they’re too formal and the fabric is too heavy.

If you want to choose bridesmaid dresses for your maids that they truly can wear again, go for a knit fabric or something airy. I have a good idea for bridesmaid dress selection: Lauren Conrad Collection. I’m slightly embarassed that I’ve shopped around to see Lauren Conrad’s clothing line. It’s surprisingly cute and simple. However, have you seen the price tag? A cute cotton sundress, or asymmetrical gown is upwards of $100 to $200. That’s almost as much as I spent on my last….bridesmaid’s dress!

So my idea is, look at high end cotton and knit dresses like Lauren Conrad’s. They are very stylish, perfect for a summer wedding, especially an outdoor wedding where heat is an issue. You’re bridesmaids will be pleased that they have an excuse to buy a dress that they would never have splurged on. And you’ll be confident knowing that your bridesmaids are wearing something simple, elegant and classic.
