Military Wedding Invitation Wording

How to word a military wedding invitation correctly

You may have met your fiance through the military or you may be a military bride waiting for your fiance to come home. Whatever the case if you’re affiliated with the military, you know that it’s full of traditions and rules. There’s actually a correct way to word a military invitation. Since the military prides itself on regulations, you’ll want to get the wording just right.

Rank determines the placement of names. If the bride or groom’s rank is below sergeant, you should omit the rank but list their branch of service ie. Marines, Air Force or Navy.  If the bride or groom’s rank is a Junior title, put that title below the person’s name, and indicate their branch. If you rank above lieutenant than you should indicate your title before your name, list your name, and then list your branch of service.
